ABOUT ITAL MOMMA

Greetings!

My name is Mygella Akosua, also known as ITAL MOMMA.

I was Born and raised in Suriname and partially grew up in Sint Maarten. I am a passionate Plant-Based Culinary Artist and Lifestyle Coach. In 2020, a transformative trip to Jamaica inspired me to fully embrace a plant-based lifestyle. With my love for my Surinamese cuisine, I discovered that traditional dishes are equally delicious without meat!

I perfected my skills through self mastery, experimenting, incorporating traditional Afro-Surinamese cooking techniques, taking courses & workshops and learning from elders of the Rastafari communities in Jamaica.

I have inspired many with my cookbooks, in Nature Cooking classes and chef services at pop-up restaurants.

I am currently travelling the world as a plant-based personal and retreat chef, and I am even facilitating my own plant-based wellness retreats in the Caribbean. Where the focus is your connection with food, Nature and your SELF, with a splash of adventure.

Cooking has become  my meditation; I get to express my art and create unique tasty dishes at the same time.

I am so honoured to share my sacred space with you at the ITAL MOMMA RETREATS.

Every single experience and every single activity is designed to help you elevate your self- love, your way of thinking, improve your eating habits, inspire you to explore some more and have fun, and experiencing all that life has to offer you.

You will learn that everything is vibrational first before it is physical, and you will know exactly how to recognize the voice of your intuition.
