My name is Mygella and I am happy to share my love for food with you and your family and friends. I am a Traditional Caribbean woman from Suriname, who loves to veganize Caribbean and African dishes.

I love to share my tasty recipes with the world, in the hope to create more awareness about the foods we consume.

Do you need a chef for your retreat?

At the dining table is where your guests have an opportunity to come together, socialise and share their love for food.

Food plays a very significant role at each and every retreat. However, providing food for a large group of people, arranging groceries and budgeting all of this at the same time can be a lot for a retreat host/hostess.

So why don’t you recruit a retreat chef that can help with managing all of this for you?

Retreats are my thing. I have catered for over 50 people at different events and I’ve been hosting my own retreats for the past year. During my retreats I provide my guests with delicious healthy Caribbean breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout their stay.

The retreats may vary from weekend getaways to 5-7- day retreats in villas.

My food

My food is always vibrant and colorful, packed with lots of nutrients and very delicious Caribbean flavors. I take inspiration from places I travel to and from my own Afro- Surinamese kitchen. All the foods that I prepare are plant-based and dairy-free. I live by an β€˜Ital’ all natural lifestyle and this also shows in my food.

I usually suggest a light breakfast of Tea, followed by a fruit buffet. Additionally, Guests can choose what extras they would like on their plates to suit their appetites. This can be smoothies, porridges or pancakes.

For lunch I offer a variation of soups and for dinner guests can enjoy the full Ital experience with 5 different sides. You can also add the option of a two course dinner which will include a dessert at the end.

I often join my guests for dinner and I am always open to chat about my recipes and my style of cooking, and also share some cooking tips here and there.

My way of cooking is not determined by weight or body size, but by overall well-being, including physical, emotional and mental health. My food is created for the soul and tastes just as good as it looks.

I provide a plant-based vegan menu and I am always open to tailor my meals to cater for allergies and according to the guests liking.

Costing

Retreats are quoted on an individual basis, by the number of guests, also taking into account the amount of meals and food schedule.

For a large group of complex meals I will bring a kitchen assistant. I am also able to add on extras when a small cooking demo is requested.
